No
matter who you are or how unimportant you think your computer is,
whenever you connect to the Internet your computer system is under
attack. Our advice is to protect yourself and your system before
you even think of setting up your Internet connection. The programs
below will protect you from most of what the Internet can throw
at you but will not protect you from the most hardened experienced
'Cracker', nothing will, but on most occasions if the idiots ruining
it for everyone else finds your computer to be seemingly protected
they will move on to an easier target. The software shown on this
page is not made by us nor do we suggest that this is the only software
available for the purpose, nor do we make any guarantees that it

is better than none, and if it's money that is stopping you from

FREE Anti Virus

Obviously
a must. I do not know of any free 'commercial' virus protection
but for the home user there is AVG

A firewall will stop most attackers from even seeing your system
so they will be unable to attack. There are lots of 'free for home
use' firewalls on the market. Some of the best known ones are listed

What a lot of choice, or so it would seem.
Many of the so called 'free' adware/spyware programs are trials
for paid for software and do not actually do anything but frighten
people! A tool we always use and would recommend is 'Spybot-S&D'
